Your Powerwall may require some basic troubleshooting from time to time. Some issues can be resolved from the convenience of your home, without the need for additional technician assistance.
A Gateway Reset can help reconnect the Powerwall to the Backup Gateway. Please complete the steps below to reconnect.

Backup Gateway Reset
Tools Needed: Non-metal item such as a pen or pencil
Locate your Backup Gateway, your Backup Gateway is a grey box like shown in the picture below.
1. Open the front door, locate the “Reset” button
2. With a non-metal object such as a pen or pencil, press and hold the reset button down for 10 seconds then release.
3. It can take 3-5 minutes for the reset to be completed.
4. If the reset was successful, you should be able to monitor your system in the Tesla app again.
If after 3-5 minutes your system is still not reporting in please repeat the above steps.
Backup Gateway 2 Reset
Tools Needed: Non-metal item such as a pen or pencil
Locate your Backup Gateway, your Backup Gateway is a white box and looks like a mini Powerwall like shown in the picture below.
1. Open the front door is open, locate the “Reset” button
2. With a non-metal object such as a pen or pencil, press and hold the reset button down for 10 seconds then release.
3. It can take 3-5 minutes for the reset to be completed.
4. If the reset was successful, you should be able to monitor your system in the Tesla app again.
If after 3-5 minutes your system is still not reporting in please repeat the above steps.
